A 27-year-old man with a long rap sheet was shot and killed in Mott Haven early today.
Samuel Gonzalez was wounded several times in the back outside the Betances Houses, on Brook Avenue near East 144th Street, at 2:30 a.m., police said.
Detectives said they had no suspect and were trying to figure out what the motive may have been.
But they also noted that the victim had led a much-troubled life, including having been arrested 23 times, mostly involving possession or sale of drugs, sources said.
