Elderly woman killed by car in Brooklyn

A 79-year-old woman talking on her cellphone and crossing against the light was fatally struck by a car just one block from her Bensonhurst home, police sources said today.

King Fong was crossing Bay Parkway near 72nd Street at 9:05 p.m. Saturday when the four-door Dodge sedan hit her, police said.

Witnesses told The Post that they desperately tried to save her by performing CPR until an ambulance arrived. But Fong died at Lutheran Medical Center.

The driver remained at the scene, and detectives said no criminality was suspected.
