‘Glee’ star Cory Monteith was ‘doing amazing’ hours before his death

Hours before “Glee” heartthrob Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room, the actor was upbeat and making summer plans, a heartbroken friend and co-worker said yesterday.

“I had several interactions with him [Saturday] where he said that he was doing amazing,” said “Glee” director Adam Shankman.

“He even said, ‘I am feeling fantastic.’ ”

“I’m like everybody else,” Shankman told CNN. “Really devastated and confused by what happened.”

Monteith had told his pal that he was looking forward to jet-skiing in California.

Shankman spoke as officials scheduled an autopsy for today to determine what killed the handsome 31-year-old star, who was discovered by hotel staff shortly after noon Saturday in his 21st-floor room at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.

His on- and off-screen love, Lea Michele, is reportedly inconsolable over his death.
