T-Mobile All-Star FanFest at the Javits Center (11th Avenue and 34th Street)

Billed as the “World’s Largest Interactive Baseball Theme Park,” the event, for fans of all ages, will occupy over 450,000 square feet and feature more than 30 attractions. Fans can pitch, hit, field and throw at different stations, view artifacts from the Baseball Hall of Fame, meet legends such as Ozzie Smith and Darryl Strawberry, have their own baseball card made and see the world’s largest baseball. FanFest will be open from 9:00AM – 8:00PM today and 9:00AM – 6:00PM tomorrow.

Apples on Parade

See if you can find all 35 of the 350-pound, All-Star themed apples spread throughout Manhattan. Stretching from 125th Street to Bridge Street, each team is represented, along with some nostalgic throwbacks with the Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants, which are both located at Grand Central Terminal.

Gatorade All-Star Workout Day at Citi Field featuring the Chevrolet Home Run Derby

Fans will be thankful the Citi Field fences have been moved in and should get plenty of souvenirs when players from both teams take batting practice prior to the Derby. The Home Run Apple will then get a great workout in the highly anticipated event featuring two teams of four players from each league, captained by Robinson Cano and David Wright. This year’s participants also include Bryce Harper, Prince Fielder and Chris Davis.

MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Show

The parade, which begins at 1 p.m., will run across 42nd Street in Manhattan, starting at Bryant Park at Sixth Avenue and end between Second and Third Avenues, taking place on nearly 80,000 square feet of red carpet. Get there early to get a good view of some big names in baseball, set to travel in top-down Chevys.

Getting To The Game

Fans are highly encouraged to use mass transit. You can either take the 7 train or the Long Island Railroad to Mets/Willets Point station. Citi Field is also served by the Q48 bus.

The Game

The All-Star Game takes place tomorrow night at 8 p.m. (TV: Fox; Radio: ESPN

98.7 FM, WFAN 660 AM/101.9 FM). Former Mets great Tom Seaver is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Citi Field gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

Cameras & video equipment

Small film or digital cameras are permitted in Citi Field. Commercial grade audio, video and photographic equipment is not permitted.

Tailgating

Tailgating is permitted under the conditions that there are no open flames of any type, only one parking space is used and there is no alcohol consumption.

Prohibited items

No items larger than 16” x 16 x 8”; hard-sided coolers; all metal cans (including sunscreen aerosol cans); glass bottles; open containers; alcoholic beverages; illegal substances; laser pointers; noisemaking devices; fireworks, animals (except for assistive purposes); weapons and any items of similar nature.

Smoking is prohibited except for three designated areas: at the left field gate on the Plaza Level, at center field staircase on the Field Level and at the top ramp across from section 527.

Guests may bring in one, soft, plastic, factory-sealed water bottles of 20 ounces or less. Guests may also bring in one sealed, soft-sided child’s juice box. Water bottles and juice boxes may not be frozen.

Umbrellas are permitted as long as they do not interfere with another guest’s enjoyment of the game.
