Rolle: Jermichael Finley ‘would love to be a part of the Giants’

Giants safety Antrel Rolle watched some of the Super Bowl with Packers tight end Jermichael Finley, and talked about trying to reach the Big Game together next season.

Finley is a free agent, and Rolle said he tried to recruit Finley to the Giants.

“He said he would love to be a part of the Giants,” said Rolle, who was honored at the Thurman Munson Awards for the AHRC NYC Foundation at the Grand Hyatt in Midtown on Tuesday.

“He’s an extreme talent. He’s a fiery guy, and I think that’s something that we could definitely use on the offensive side of the ball. A guy with some fire and intensity.”

Finley suffered a serious neck injury last season that left him briefly paralyzed on the field and ultimately required neck surgery. But during Super Bowl week, Finley told Pro Football Talk he is already running and catching passes, and he was three or four weeks away from being cleared for contact by his doctor.

Finley has familiarity with new Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, who was the quarterbacks coach in Green Bay.

The Giants signed Brandon Myers last offseason, but he was a disappointment, finishing the season with 47 catches and 522 yards and four touchdowns.
