Off-duty city workers busted for alcohol, drugs, drunk driving

Three off-duty city workers — a teacher, a cop and a Corrections captain — were busted for everything from drugs to drunken driving in separate incidents Sunday, police said.

Corrections Capt. Grayson Fredericks, 46, was the first to be arrested after being spotted speeding in his white 2003 Mercedes Benz along Laurelton Parkway near Merrick Boulevard in Rosedale, Queens, around 12:45 a.m., law-enforcement sources said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while his ability was impaired by alcohol and speeding.

School teacher Isael Barias, 38, was then spotted drinking Hennessy from a plastic cup, with the bottle next to him, behind 300 Cherry St. near the Henry Street Settlement in Lower Manhattan around 1:10 a.m., sources said.

When cops approached, questioned and searched him, they found cocaine, sources said. The Queens man was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

NYPD Officer Armando Urbina, 36, was then charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to take a breath test after he smashed his tan 2002 Saab into a concrete median near the intersection of the Grand Central Parkway and Long Island Expressway in Brooklyn around 7:50 a.m., sources said.

He had blood-shot, watery eyes, spoke slowly and appeared lethargic, according to law-enforcement sources. He was taken to a local precinct, where he refused the Breathalyzer and was charged with drunken driving, sources said.
