Hunger Games 2 fans’ top must-see film of fall

Movie fans are hungry for more Jennifer Lawrence.
The Oscar-winning actress and her upcoming flick, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” topped a survey of most anticipated autumn flicks and stars, according to readers of the ticket-selling site Fandango.
Life couldn’t get any better for the 23-year-old actress, who struck Oscar gold last year for her portrayal of a ballroom-dancing widow in “Silver Linings Playbook.”
She’s been busy this year shooting “Catching Fire” and “American Hustle,” which are due to hit screens on Nov. 22 and Dec. 25, respectively.
“Every actor dreams of having a year like the one that Jennifer is enjoying,” said Dave Karger, chief correspondent for Fandango.

Natalie Portman’s “Thor: The Dark World,” space adventures “Gravity” and “Ender’s Game,” and horror remake “Carrie” rounded out the top-five most-anticipated movies due to hit screens between now and the end of November, according to Fandango users.
The most anticipated acting performances by leading ladies this fall, following Lawrence, are Sandra Bullock (“Gravity”), Portman, Meryl Streep (“August: Osage County”) and Jennifer Hudson (“Black Nativity”), the survey showed. The leading men that moviegoers are most eager to see this fall are Chris Hemsworth (“Thor”), Leonardo DiCaprio (“The Wolf of Wall Street”), George Clooney (“Gravity”), Josh Hutcherson (“Catching Fire”) and Liam Hemsworth (“Catching Fire”), according to Fandango.
Fall movies tend to veer away from sexy, action flicks that dominate the summer.
“Fall is the time of year when adult dramas break through the summer of action, and I’m particularly excited by more adult movies like Martin Scorsese’s ‘Wolf of Wall Street,’ Alfonso Cuarón’s ‘Gravity’ and the screen adaptation of ‘August: Osage County,’ ” Karger said.
The “Hunger Games” was one of last year’s biggest blockbusters, earning $408 million in North America ticket sales and $687 million worldwide.
