New trial for fired ‘Housewives’ star Sheridan

Nicolette Sheridan is getting a new trial in her ongoing legal dispute over being fired from the former ABC drama “Desperate Housewives” in 2009.

According to reports, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Wednesday overturned his earlier ruling and ordered a new trial in the case after jurors in the original 2012 trial were split over whether the actress was unfairly dismissed from the show.

Sheridan originally sued ABC, its studio and “Housewives” creator Marc Cherry for $20 million in 2010, claiming her firing was retaliation for complaining about Cherry allegedly hitting her during an argument on set.

The current suit has been trimmed down to allege that her contract was not renewed after she complained about unsafe work conditions on the series.

Sheridan portrayed Edie Britt on “Housewives” from 2004 to 2009.
