New Year’s Eve stab melee at Port Authority

A homeless man was on the loose after stabbing two people in a wild melee at the Port Authority Bus Terminal as New Year’s Eve festivities took place a block away in Times Square, sources said.

A 48-year-old man and a 61-year-old man were both cut in the face during a brawl in the terminal’s main concourse at around 8:45 p.m., according to law-enforcement sources.

It is believed that all three men are homeless and know each other, cops said. A third person was also injured, but it was not clear how.

A security guard at the terminal said the suspect fled to an upstairs bathroom, where he dumped his victims’ personal belongings.

Both victims suffered non-life- threatening injuries and were transported to Bellevue Hospital.

Police were searching for the suspect, who was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s wearing camouflage-pattern clothing.
