Queens teen who killed half-brother gets 5 years

A Queens teenager who admitted to stabbing her older half-brother to death during a heated fight over a cell phone was sentenced to five years in prison.

Yocairis Diaz and her family declined to address the court about the events that lead up to 20-year-old Frank Fortuna’s death on Sept 7 in their Woodhaven apartment.

Diaz, 17, plead guilty last month to first-degree manslaughter and will serve five years in prison with five years post-release supervision.

Before Diaz fatally pierced her brother jugular vein, she called 911 and alerted the operator, “If you don’t get her fast, I’m going to stab this guy!” prosecutors said.

The feud between the pair was ongoing before the blood bath.

The family “asked for leniency” from the prosecutors.
