Tea sells for $130 a bag at SoHo shop

They’re not likely to dump this tea in Boston Harbor.

Le Palais des Thés, SoHo’s new loose-leaf tea shop, carries what is probably the priciest tea in town — at $130 a bag.

A 3 1/2-ounce pouch of handpicked, black, South Korean jukro — with its chocolaty flavor and woody notes — makes about 20 cups and is “absolutely exquisite,” said general manager Emery Cooke.

Jukro costs about three times more than its highest-priced rival at David’s Tea in the Upper East Side or McNulty Tea & Coffee in the West Village.
