Flat tire for Oprah net

Part 1 of Oprah’s interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong pulled in only 3.2 million viewers Thursday night — failing to top Oprah Winfrey Network viewership records and falling short of expectations.

The interview, which aired from 9 to 10:30 p.m., didn’t even equal viewership for Winfrey’s interview last March with Whitney Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, which reeled in 3.5 million viewers and remains the most-watched show in OWN’s 2-year history.

“Oprah and Lance Armstrong: The Worldwide Exclusive” pulled in another 1.1 million viewers in its 10:30 p.m. repeat — and set OWN records across all male demographics — but the combined 4.3 million viewership was far less than anticipated for the year’s biggest “get” so far.
