An elderly woman is fighting for her life after being struck by a taxi in the East Village today, authorities said.
The 75-year-old woman was crossing East 6th Street at Avenue C around 12:45 p.m. when the Ford Escort yellow cab collided with her, police said.
She was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center unconscious and in critical condition, police said.
The cabbie remained on scene and police do not suspect any criminality.
