The Who: A mix of photographers, bloggers and magazine editors flocked to a nondescript Midtown locale, where Jenni Kayne presented an assemblage of day and evening looks. Glamour’s fashion news editor Rajni Jacques was in-house, looking like a street style-seeker’s dream in a hooded parka, slim jeans and army green platform booties.
The What: Kayne’s go-to leopard print appeared on silk separates with minimal silhouettes, and pops of color arrived by way of absinthe yellow backdrops on paisley prints. Looks ranged from tailored herringbone suits to strapless column tops and floor-length gowns. The designer’s d’orsay shoes were either kitten-heeled or flat, in purple, black, and a regal gold print seen throughout the collection.
The Highlight: A plaid pants suit paired with a lace top was a literal, yet fantastic interpretation of masculine-meets-feminine.
The Takeaway: A solid presentation of non-fussy garb with subtle hints of luxury.
