M&Ouch! Gal’s cracked-tooth candy suit

A Brooklyn housewife cracked her sweet tooth when she chomped down on an M&M that contained a rock-solid “petrified peanut,” according to a lawsuit against candy giant Mars.

Lea Shimunov, 47, from Sheepshead Bay, bought a medium bag of peanut M&Ms at a Duane Reade at 2931 Avenue U in December 2011, according to a suit filed in Brooklyn Supreme Court yesterday.

When she bit into the candy it painfully shattered several of her teeth, said the suit, which also names Duane Reade.

“There was either a foreign object that was made into a M&M, or it may have been a petrified peanut,” said lawyer Robert Berkowitz.

Reps for Mars and Duane Reade did not respond to requests for comment.“We have a lawsuit and we are not going to give any interviews,” said a man who answered the phone at Shimunov’s home yesterday before hanging up.
