Philadelphia Eagle quarterback Michael Vick — once the poster boy for animal cruelty — now wants to be the picture of doggy devotion.
A photo was released of Vick and his puppy, Angel, as they attend dog-training class at a New Jersey PetSmart store. Philadelphia sports site Crossing Broad posted the photos.
Vick, who did nearly two years in prison for running a dog-fighting ring, is no longer on probation, so he’s allowed to own a pooch.
“Just as convicted pedophiles aren’t allowed free access to children,” said PETA spokeswoman Jane Dollinger, “anyone who [has] caused them to suffer . . . should never again be allowed access to dogs.”
