Puppy-ciao couple sues

A young couple has filed a defamation lawsuit against a cabal of animal-rescue diehards who called them “puppy killers” online.

Robert Vaynberger, 28, and girlfriend, Sarah Kapach, 26, adopted a new dog after their Prince Charles Spaniel puppy, Charlie, died in February 2012, but they were so broken up over Charlie’s death, they returned the new dog to its foster home less than 24 hours later, their Brooklyn Supreme Court suit says.“You Google my name, and what comes up? Puppy killer!” said Vaynberger. “We got death threats from all over the world while we were still grieving the death of Charlie.”

The inflammatory Internet messages accusing the couple of “killing their puppy” popped up on Facebook and animal-rescue Web sites the same day, the suit says.
