Pressure’s on in ‘terror’ bust

A Saudi man with a suspicious passport was arrested after landing at a Detroit airport and lying about a pressure cooker he’d brought.

But Hussain al Kwawahir’s nephew said it’s all a misunderstanding about lamb.

When Hussain al Kwawahir’s flight from Saudi Arabia via Amsterdam landed on Saturday, US agents noticed a page missing from his passport, authorities said. Then they found a pressure cooker during baggage inspection, raising terror concerns because the devices were used as bomb components in Boston.

Kwawahir said he brought the pressure cooker for his nephew because he believed they aren’t sold in the United States, but later changed his story under questioning. Court papers did not lodge a criminal complaint, but said Kwawahir was arrested on suspicion of trying to enter the US with a “mutilated and altered passport.”
