Rap flap at court

Embattled hip-hop mogul Damon Dash traded barbs with a former business partner and his attorney in a Manhattan courthouse elevator yesterday.

The Harlem-born executive, who co-founded Roc-A-Fella Records with Jay-Z, was trying to discuss the $240,000 he allegedly owes Tom Nastos, who ran an apparel company that distributed Dash’s brand, Rocawear.

Suddenly, Nastos’ attorney made a ruckus.

“You’re trying to intimidate my witness,” lawyer Martin Rapaport shouted at Dash.

“This is not a hip-hop concert” the lawyer yelled, sending court officers running to intervene.

Dash, 42, called Rapaport a “racist” and voluntarily left the scene.

“Tom Nastos is an exploiter of the culture,” Dash, dressed casually for the courtroom in baggy jeans and a white T-shirt, alleged about the white businessman to whom he allegedly owes money.

A Manhattan Supreme Court referee ruled yesterday that Dash was properly served with a lawsuit for the 2006 loan and is thus responsible for the amount, plus $90,000 interest, for failing to respond to the charges.
