Former NYRA president Noe dead at 84

Kenneth “Kenny” Noe, former president, chief executive officer and chairman of the New York Racing Association, died Sunday at the age of 84.

Noe, a former racing secretary and steward at NYRA, was hired as president and general manager in October 1994.

In September 1995, he was elevated to chairman of the board of trustees and in December 1996 was named chairman and chief executive officer.

Noe resigned as chairman and CEO in October 2000.

In addition to New York, the Hamilton, Ohio, native served as racing secretary at a number of tracks, including Hialeah, Arlington, Garden State Park, and Washington Park. He also spent 11 years as president and general manager of Calder from 1979-90.

Noe is survived by his son Jeff and daughter Holly. Funeral arrangements are pending.
