Oscar-winning director Ang Lee has pulled out of directing the FX pilot, “Tyrant.”
Lee, who won his second Oscar for “Life of Pi,” reportedly “felt he didn’t have gas left in the tank” and had too many other commitments, according to deadline.com.
He called “Tyrant” executive producer Howard Gordon (“24”) from Cannes yesterday to break the news and was “emotional” about his decision, according to the report.
“Tyrant” revolves around an American family living in the hotbed of the Middle East and is expected to become a series.
