Ex-Cooking Channel host Daryl Robinson found dead

The former host of a Cooking Channel cocktail show was discovered dead in his Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment, police said.

Mixologist Darryl Robinson,50, of “Drink Up,” was found on the second floor of his Greene Avenue apartment, near Bedford Avenue around 12:30 a.m. after a concerned friend reached out to police, the sources said.

Robinson’s landlord couldn’t get into the apartment so Emergency Service Units had to force their way in, the sources said.

He was found laying face down on his bed, the sources said. He was fully clothed.

Initial reports suggest he died around 9 p.m., according to police sources. The former host had no immediate signs of trauma.

A neighbor said Robinson was very active in the community and would often participate and make donations to community functions.

“He was a real nice, cool guy,” said Mark Holmes,51.

“He always donated stuff to the block. We have a big block association. He always participated in everything,” Holmes added.

“I always liked him. He had this old Green Regal, he was trying to bring it back. A two door Buick Regal about a ’79, ’78,” he said.

Robinson posted his last cocktail creation, the ‘Smoking Super Bowl’ to his website on February 1.

“Upon learning of this morning’s sad news, our thoughts go out to Darryl’s family & friends,” a spokesperson from the Cooking Channel said.

Family and friends told investigators he was prone to black-outs but the cause of death has not yet been determined.

Police are still investigating and the Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.

There were no drugs or drug paraphernalia found in the apartment, cops said.

His apartment was found clean.

Robinson has appeared as a guest on popular shows like “The Wendy Williams Show” and “Access Hollywood.”

No foul play is suspected at this time, cops said.
