It wasn’t a wolf or a dog. It was a joke.
Olympian Kate Hansen made news on Thursday when she posted video of a “wolf” roaming the halls of her Sochi dorm. Except, it wasn’t.
“Inside Edition” reported later in the day that it was a prank for a skit on Jimmy Kimmel’s “Late Night” show. Despite finishing 10th in the women’s luge, Hansen has become one of the more popular American Olympians thanks to her social media presence and pre-race dancing moves.
Kimmel acknowledged the hoax on Twitter. And Sandy Caligiore, a publicist for the United States Luge Association, confirmed it was a hoax and Hansen would skype with Kimmel on the show.
