This week’s couple: A fine art

Museums are always one of those dates people come up with as an alternative to more traditional activities like dinner, drinks and a movie. So we thought, Brijesh, 26, and Kelly, 22, would enjoy getting in touch with their inner children at the Art of the Brick Lego exhibit at the Discovery Times Square museum. Were the towering displays made from plastic bricks enough to provide a spark between the two — or was romance a lost art?

He said:

When I saw Kelly walking up the stairs of the Discovery Museum, I was really taken aback by her cute look and great smile.

Kelly was coming from an improv class, which let me know she had a fun, easygoing personality. I kept my work spiel to a minimum, because people’s eyes glaze over when science comes up — but Kelly seemed to understand what I do.

The Art of the Brick exhibit was cool. It was engrossing to think about the time it takes to put together the creations. Afterward, we hung out at the nearby cupcake spot.

I tried a peanut butter and chocolate cupcake, but Kelly wasn’t into any of them, so I got her water. After a fun photo shoot, we parted ways — but not before I took Kelly’s number. I would definitely take her out again.

She said:

Brijesh was a bit overdressed, which made me uncomfortable, but probably not as uncomfortable as he was in a dress shirt in 90-degree heat. Aside from that, he was good-looking and sweet — so I got over it.

We talked about living in Bushwick and work. Brijesh’s research was impressive, but over my head. My energy was low from biking in the heat and not eating, so I wasn’t on my conversational A-game.

The museum date made thingskind of weird. I love museums, but I’m more of a beer-at-a-dive-bar kind of girl for a first date. The fun part was when we took the photos.

I gave Brijesh my number, and we said goodbye. Brijesh was a smart and cool guy. No romantic connection, but we can hang out around the neighborhood.
