‘Weed Head’ defends pot shot

His pipe dream was turned into a nightmare last weekend — but the Times Square panhandler known as Weed Head is finally ready to clear the smoke from the air.

Dwight Laird was busted last weekend for allegedly assaulting a fellow panhandler named Wayne Semancik, a k a Beer Man, stabbing his rival five times with a pen.

“He deserves what he got,” Laird, 30, told The Post. “I’m not proud of what I did, but I’m not apologizing.”

The beggar’s brawl unfolded on a Friday night.

“Near 42nd Street and Seventh Avenue, he said, ‘Get off my block!’ ” Laird recalled.

“He told me he had a knife,” continued Laird, an unemployed chef. “I turned away, and for whatever reason, he hit me.”

Laird, who hawks Weed Head gear through his Facebook account, was arraigned on June 22 and charged with second-degree assault. His next court date is Oct. 3, according to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
