‘Vikings’ adds two more pillage people

History has added two more “Vikings” to its plunder-and-pillage series.

Former “Law & Order” star Linus Roache and Alexander Ludwig — who appeared in “The Hunger Games” — are joining the cast of “Vikings,” which will begin shooting its second season this summer.

Roache will play Ecbert, King of Wessex — who’s described as “a man full of strength, knowledge and undisguised ambition” (natch).

Ludwig will play Bjorn, “the intelligent and bold warrior son” of series protagonist Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).

The British-born Roache, 49, is best known to US TV viewers as executive assistant DA Michael Cutter, first in “Law & Order” and then in “Law & Order: SVU.” He also starred last year as Hugh, Earl of Manton, in ITV’s “The Titanic,” which aired here on ABC.

Ludwig played Cato in “The Hunger Games,” last year’s breakout big-screen hit starring Jennifer Lawrence.

“Vikings,” which followed “The Bible” on History — giving the cable network a powerful one-two ratings punch last winter — averaged 4.3 million viewers.

Its second season is slated to premiere next year.
