$weet deal: Google interns make more than average American

That’s a lot of dough for fetching coffee!

Google software engineering interns take home a whopping average wage of $6,700 per month – far more than the average American, according to the salary measuring website Glassdoor.com.

And other non-engineering interns at the tech giant company rake in $5,800 monthly, according to the Web site.

Interns generally work for three-month stints, raking in roughly $20,000 — which takes the typical American roughly two thirds of a year to earn.

“Actually, it’s not that surprising that interns at a company like Google are getting paid so handsomely,” said Glassdoor spokesman Scott Dobroski told CNN Money.

“The war for tech talent continues to rage on.”

Interns from the firm are featured in the movie “The Internship,” which hits the theaters this weekend.

The average annual wage for Americans last year was $34,053, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
