B’klyn busts in roof-toss rape

A second man was arrested yesterday for luring a teenaged girl to a Brooklyn rooftop, raping her and throwing her off the three-story building, authorities said.

Antonio Owensford, 26, was charged with attempted murder, two counts of rape, assault and strangulation the same day his accomplice, married father Anwar Desouza, 24, was arraigned on similar charges and held on $250,000 bail.

Desouza, 24, was joined by his wife and parents at his arraignment in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

“He has a job for six years at Whole Foods, lives with wife and children,” said his attorney, Daniel Moore. “He strongly denies the allegations and having any involvement in what happened on the roof.”

The grocery-store employee was arrested Thursday in the heinous crime that left a 16-year-old girl with serious injuries.

The two suspects contacted the victim, 16, via Backpage.com, a Web site that hosts ads for escorts, Assistant DA Wilfredo Cotto said.

They met up with the girl Sunday and lured her to the roof of the building on Miller Avenue in East New York where they forced her to perform oral sex, raped and choked her before tossing her over the edge, Cotto alleged.

The victim miraculously survived the three-story fall that left her with leg, arm and neck injuries.

A woman who lives near where the attack occurred said she heard screaming early Sunday morning.

“I was sleeping. I heard someone shouting, ‘I need help, I need help!’ ” the neighbor said.

“I heard a man’s voice asking her, ‘What happened, what happened?’ She said, ‘I don’t know how I got here.’ She was on the ground. She told the man, ‘Call the ambulance. My legs are broken.’ ”

A friend of the victim’s family said her parents are devastated.

“The parents are very sad,” said Juan Rodriguez, president of the 75th Precinct Community Council, who visited the girl in the hospital.

“Who wants to get their 16-year-old daughter raped and thrown off a roof? These guys are monsters. The family right now is devastated.”

The girl’s friend, Monifah Harper, 24, said she is “disgusted, upset and devastated.”

“She is a nice girl,” Harper said. “She is not a loudmouth.”

The victim is being treated at Brookdale Hospital.

Desouza is facing charges of attempted murder in the second degree, assault, rape, two counts of strangulation and one count of a criminal sex act, police said.
