Baby born at Penn Station

Quick-thinking MTA cops helped deliver a baby boy in Penn Station yesterday morning after a 32-year-old woman went into labor waiting for a Long Island Rail Road train, authorities said.

The woman was standing on the platform near Track 20 when she suddenly went into labor and the cops rushed to her aid, helping deliver the infant at about 10 a.m.

“It happened so fast. She was screaming. We brought her to the precinct, which is right inside Penn Station,” said MTA Police Officer Vinay Hathiraamani, 32. “It was a boy.”

Paramedics rushed the mother and infant to Bellevue Hospital.
