Manhattan is worst for road warriors

Manhattan has the angriest drivers, while Queens has the most alcohol-fueled crashes and drivers there are more likely to doze off, according to a Post analysis of collisions so far this year.

The streets of Manhattan saw the most of this year’s almost 400 road-rage-fueled accidents — with 107 as of July 31, followed by 92 in Queens and 90 in Brooklyn, according to NYPD data.

Seventeen of those collisions were in the Midtown North precinct, which has had the most road-rage accidents so far — including last week’s horrific taxi accident near Rockefeller Center.

Robert Sinclair Jr., a spokesman for AAA, said driving conditions in New York can spark aggression.

“It’s highly congested,” said Sinclair. “You have all these cars, pedestrians, and cyclists crammed into a small space. Just more opportunity for people to get close to one another, and tempers [to] fray.”

Almost 32 percent of the city’s 888 boozy accidents happened in Queens — showing that those drinking in Manhattan are more likely to take the subway or cab it home.

“Most people in Manhattan aren’t driving to go and drink,” said Sinclair.

Queens drivers were also most likely to nod off behind the wheel, with 95 sleep-related accidents, out of the 235 recorded citywide.
