Two cold-hearted Brooklyn men threw a stolen pit bull puppy out of a moving car when state police, pursuing them for an upstate New York home invasion robbery, tried to pull them over, authorities said.
Raheem McKinoon, 19, and John Shortt, 20, along with two teens from Port Jervis, allegedly broke down the door of a Deerpark home about 12:50 p.m. Saturday while brandishing a handgun.
They fled empty-handed when the victim, who was home at the time, called 911.
A state trooper spotted their tan Chevrolet Impala and tried to stop them – that’s when the burglars tossed the puppy onto the road.
The thieves allegedly committed an earlier home invasion robbery in Matamoras, PA, where they took the dog and a 55-inch TV at gunpoint on Saturday.
Cops took arrested all four suspects in Deerpark, and charged them with burglary and criminal use of a firearm.
The puppy, who was not badly injured during the ordeal, was later reunited with its owners in Middletown at the State Police barracks.
