Grandma-shove thief was on a purse-snatch spree: officials

The thug accused of shoving a Queens grandma down a flight stairs then snatching her pocketbook last August when the woman went to visit her childhood home in Washington Heights told cops he’d robbed four other purses the same day, authorities said Wednesday.

Cruel, crack-addled thief Richard Davidson chatted up Marjorie Ramondetta, 93, as she returned to the 164th Street building with her daughter to see how it had changed after 73 years.

The career criminal, who claimed he’d once worked as a barber, pretended to live in the building and followed the pair inside just before the Aug 20 attack. He then pushed them down the stairs and plucked both ladies’ pocketbooks.

“I robbed six bags today,” he told cops after his arrest, according to statements made public at his arraignment Wednesday. “One was from an old lady who had her daughter with her and I dragged her down two flights of stairs until she finally let go … Wow, she was strong.”

Davidson pleaded not guilty in Manhattan Supreme Court.

When cops collared the brutish 25-year-old, he told them he hadn’t slept in seven days because he was so high on crack. He has 21 prior arrests dating back to 2008.
