Il Divo, one of those cute-boy opera singing groups, opens a short-run concert Nov. 7 at the Marquis.
I wonder if they’ll bother to learn the lyrics to their songs? Or will they just try to flub their way through, as they did last spring at a televised London concert honoring Andrew Lloyd Webber?
The arrogant Il Divo boys showed up at a rehearsal without knowing the lyrics to “Love Changes Everything” from “Aspects of Love.” As they stumbled through the song, a furious Lloyd Webber shouted: “Get them off!”
Lloyd Webber replaced them with his good friend Michael Ball.
An embarrassed Il Divo begged for a second chance, but in the end were consigned to sing backup vocals for Ball.
I hear they’ll be singing a Lloyd Webber song at their Broadway concert.
Don’t flub it, boys — or I’ll tell Andrew!
