‘Magnificent’ Carson to become miniseries

A forthcoming biography of “Tonight Show” legend Johnny Carson will be made into an NBC miniseries, according to Deadline Hollywood.

“Carson the Magnificent: An Intimate Portrait” by Bill Zehme, which will be published by Random House in mid-November, traces the beloved entertainer’s life from his childhood in Nebraska to his phenomenal three-decade run as a talk-show titan, with multiple marriages and scores of showbiz friendships along the way.

NBC has not cast an actor yet to play Carson. The network has also announced it’s planning to make a miniseries about Hillary Clinton with Diane Lane in the title role as well as a remake of Roman Polanski’s classic witchcraft film “Rosemary’s Baby.”
