‘Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara is spreading her wings.
Vergara, who plays Gloria on the hit ABC sitcom, will produce a sitcom for the network based on her own parenting experience.
It’s called “Raising Mom” and will be produced by Vergara’s Latin World Entertainment, Electus and ABC Studios, according to deadline.com.
Gail Mancuso, who won a directing Emmy for “Arrested Development” at last month’s Emmys, will direct the pilot — based on Vergara’s experiences raising her son as a single mother, according to the report.
Vergara, 41, has played Gloria Pritchett — the Latin wife of Jay Pritchett (Ed O’Neill) — on “Modern Family” since the show’s 2009 premiere.
