Beckhams to upgrade from ‘palace’ to $70M mansion

David and Victoria Beckham have parted ways with their sprawling estate in the English countryside.

Dubbed Beckingham Palace, the 12-acre property sold for a whopping $19.25M, according to the Sun on Sunday. It was reported to have been listed at close to $24 million.

The iconic Hertfordshire pad was purchased by the star couple for $4M in 1999 – just three months after their wedding.

The former soccer star is apparently also bidding farewell to one of his favorite Ferraris, two Jaguars and the family’s holiday home in France.

“David in particular was desperately sad to sell the family home as there are so many memories there”, a source told the tabloid.

“They have had years of happiness in the home, but practically now there is no need to keep it.”

According to the source the Beckhams haven’t stayed at the lavish property for at least two years and their decision to sell is “the beginning of a new era for the family”.

Posh and Becks will reportedly use the cash to invest in a brand new $70M nest in central London. The property they have in mind boasts 46 rooms, a swimming pool, cinema and a triple garage for the remainder of Beckham’s beloved car collection.

They’re also hoping good pal Gordon Ramsay will design a five-star kitchen for the new digs.

Unfortunately it means the brood – Brooklyn, 14, Romeo, 11, Cruz, eight and Harper, two – won’t get to inherit Beckingham Palace one day. The poor things.
