Jets lose WR Spadola to Dolphins

The Jets have lost wide receiver Ryan Spadola to the division-rival Dolphins’ practice squad. Spadola tweeted Tuesday night that he was joining Miami.

The Jets waived Spadola, who was the feel-good story of training camp, on Saturday. An undrafted free agent out of Lehigh, the New Jersey product impressed the coaches and spectators in Cortland with his smarts and his ability. He made the team out of camp, but did not have any catches in three games he was active for. He had one drop against the Patriots.

There was some desire within the organization to bring Spadola back as a member of the practice squad, but it was unclear whether the team ever actually offered Spadola a spot. He drew interest from a few other teams and the Dolphins won him over Tuesday.
