Why you’ll soon dress like Miley Cyrus

She twerks in crop tops, flashes the peace sign with perfectly manicured nails, and hits the red carpet in vintage Versace. Mock all you want, but Miss Miley’s got style, and quite frankly, we dig it.

Sure, sometimes her shorts are too short. And we could probably do without daily flashes of bare midriff. But with her regular rotation of crop tops, creepers and all things sheer, America’s most controversial songbird is on-trend — perhaps even ahead of the curve. Fashion  month just wrapped, and most of the biggest trend forecasts for spring can be summed up by all things Miley.

Coincidence? Let’s take a look:

Miley at the “Today” show:

Her head-to-toe monochromatic look is white-hot for spring — so is the (now ubiquitous) crop top, which pretty much popped up on every runway. We adore this sweet ruffled version from Viva Aviva. Cotton ruffled crop top, $125 at vivaaviva.com

Miley at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Pool Party:

No matter which way you slice it, frocks finished with cutouts are a “do” come spring. Hers is vintage Versace, and thus adorned with those bada– gold appliques, but we think this dress from Lulu’s is a surefire way to achieve this edgy trend. Cutout dress at lulus.com

Miley in her documentary, “Miley: The Movement”:

Nail art is a trend that’s here to stay, but Miley’s paired hers with stacked rings worn on multiple fingers — a cool detail that’s built quiet momentum and makes maximum impact. To nail this look, try these Revlon by Marchesa gold-gilded nail appliques with H&M’s stackable rings. Revlon by Marchesa 3-D jewel nail appliques, $9.99 at revlon.com. Frosted metal rings (pack of 11), $5.95 at hm.com

Miley arriving at the “SNL” after-party:

Miley plays her best fashion game with this look, which touches on many a trend: athletic-inspired, emblazoned with a graphic print and finished with a backpack. Score her look with this Versus tank. Versus burnout tank, $250 at net-a-porter.com
