Bears the pick against Detroit

Including his 1997-2012 seasons in The Post, Cat’s record in print stands at 480-408 (54 percent) against the spread.

SATURDAY

Kansas State (+2¹/₂) over TEXAS TECH: Cat was counting on the market to bump this from +2 ½ to +3 . . . but it went back. Currently at the point of their schedule where defense has become a required attribute, Red Raiders have dropped two straight, yielding gobs of yardage. Kliff Kingsbury has never seen the day he could coach with Bill Snyder. It’s the Manhattan ’Cats (+2¹/₂), on the prowl, for one unit.

SUNDAY

BEARS (-1) over Lions: Expecting Jay Cutler to return under center — but even if Josh McCown gets another crack at quarterback, this squad is developing into an offensive force. First-year attack-unit wunderkind head coach Marc Trestman may turn out to be an inspired hire. Bears (-1) thrill the nation, for one unit.

LAST WEEK: 1-1. Midshipmen continue to confound pundits when visiting apparently superior foes (Navy, plus one unit). Hope Cat fanciers found some of that 42 that was out there (Ravens/Browns Under, minus one unit).

SEASON: 11-7-2.
