Parents of children in ‘killer nanny’ attack find solace in art, family

The Upper West Side parents whose nanny allegedly stabbed two of their children to death last year said they are learning to live again with the help of their friends and family.

Kevin and Marina Krim spoke briefly Wednesday evening at a fund-raiser for their nonprofit, the Lulu and Leo Fund, named for their kids slain on Oct. 25 of last year.

“We had every reason to feel alienated from the world after this happened,” Kevin said.

“And to really, truly survive and to live again, we had to have a reason to live.”

Kevin said they miss Lulu and Leo every day, and will forever.

“We are just heartbroken,” he said. “But they inspire us every day as well. Their lives give us a purpose.”

Lucia “Lulu,” 6, and Leo, 2, were found stabbed to death last year in the family’s apartment.

The nanny, Yoselyn Ortega, has been charged with murder. She has pleaded not guilty.

Marina discovered the horror when she returned from picking up the couple’s third child, 4-year-old Nessie, from a swim lesson.

In October, the couple announced on their Facebook page that Marina had given birth to a boy named Felix Harrison.
