ROY BREAKS HIS SILENCE; MAULED ENTERTAINER TO TALK TO SHRIVER

NBC’s Maria Shriver has snared the first TV interview with “Siegfried & Roy” partner Roy Horn – who was severely mauled by one of the Vegas act’s white tigers last fall.

The interview will air this fall as part of a 90-minute special encompassing Horn’s recovery, interviews with Horn and Siegfried Fischbacher and talks with Horn’s doctors and friends.

Horn, 59, was mauled last October during the pair’s act at The Mirage Resort in Las Vegas by Montecore, one of their Siberian white tigers who weighs about 600 pounds.

Horn was rendered unconscious for a long amount of time, and then suffered a stroke, reportedly from blood-pressure medication. He reportedly has made some progress in his recovery but hasn’t been seen since the accident.

After the accident, The Mirage announced it was closing the “Siegfried & Roy” show, which had run for over 13½ years.

Shriver left NBC News after her husband, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, was elected governor of California. She remains with NBC, however, working on documentaries and special projects.
