Gory ‘Return to Nuke ‘Em High’ good for occasional laugh

Imagine the French lesbian romance “Blue Is the Warmest Color’’ as a raunchy American exploitation flick with loads of fake gore. That’s a rough idea of the latest from Lloyd Kaufman, the exuberant shockmeister whose Troma Team is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Like “Blue,’’ this very guilty pleasure centers on a frequently nude sapphic duo (Catherine Corcoran and Asta Paredes, who are not bad actors at all).

It’s more of a reboot of his 1986 hit “Class of Nuke ’Em High” than a third sequel. The nuclear plant from the earlier films, including 1991’s “Class of Nuke Em High, Part II,” has been turned into an organic food factory whose products cause eruptions of lots of green slime from the orifices of its customers. But mostly, “Return to Nuke ’Em High’’ is an occasionally hilarious series of parodies: “Carrie,’’ “Soylent Green,’’ “Glee,’’ “Cat Ballou,’’ you name it.
