Icahn can’t sell Herbalife

It looks like billionaire investor Carl Icahn will have to keep drinking those Herbalife shakes a while longer.

Shares in the nutritional supplements company dropped 5.1 percent Friday in a down market, to close at $69.71.

Earlier in the week, Herbalife had soared, closing above $73 three times — twice even hitting all-time highs.

Until Friday’s downturn, Icahn was close to being able to cash out, because once the stock has an average weighted price of $73 for five days running, the activist investor can sell, according to his February agreement with Herbalife.

Otherwise, he must stay in until Feb. 28.

The company declined to comment. Icahn did not return calls.
