Don’t tell mom, she won’t ‘Adore’ it

Roz (Robin Wright) and Lil (Naomi Watts) are best friends forever who share a bond. A special bond. A very special bond: They’re bonking each other’s 20-something sons.

“Adore,” a silly piece of soft-focus smut set in Australia, takes itself so seriously that I couldn’t stop laughing; the two ladies are like the duo on “Absolutely Fabulous” as they drool over their “young gods” surfing and showering. With both husbands cleared out of the way (one dead, the other sent out of town on a teaching gig), beach-house randiness ensues.

I have no idea why such strapping young men would be so desperate for sex as to hook up with a couple of museum artifacts they’ve known all their lives, but this hokey soap views contrivance as a small price to pay for lush mommy fantasy.

Running time: 110 minutes. Rated R (profanity, sexual content). At the Village East and the Lincoln Plaza.
