Subway agent fights off group of thugs

A subway station agent fought off a group of thugs who attacked him during a meal break in Brooklyn, sources said Wednesday.

Yun Lee, 53, who works at the Flushing Avenue station in Williamsburg, said he was approached by goons when he went to a near by post office to mail a customer’s driver’s license back to them.

“They were behind [me], come to me and say what’s up,” he said. “One guy pushed me, and another punched my face.”

Furious, Lee said he tried to fight them off. “You have to fight back when you’re on the ground, that’s the only way,” he said fiercely.

The assailants ran off — and Lee took his iPhone out to call his family and police. He was talking to his wife when one thug grabbed his phone.

Lee said he couldn’t tell if it was the same assailants who ran off, because it was so difficult for him to see.

He told some Good Samaritan that his phone had been stolen — and began trying to chase after the robber. The bystanders were able to grab his iPhone back for him, he said.

Lee was treated at Woodhull Hospital for a fracture in his eye socket, as well as damage to his nose.

He said he is afraid to go back to work, and hopes to be transferred to another station. His wife and two children were very upset by the attack.

“I have kids in college, and everybody depends on me,” he said. “Nobody should have to face being attacked,” he said.

Police said that no arrests have been made yet.
