Wilson confirmed out as Giants run game reels

The Giants’ bleak running-back situation is not getting any better.

Coach Tom Coughlin conceded on Tuesday that starter David Wilson will be out of Thursday’s matchup with the Bears. Wilson scored his first touchdown of the season in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles, but on the final play of the first quarter he was thrown down for a 3-yard loss and came away with a neck injury that kept him out the remainder of the game.

With Wilson hurting, the Giants re-signed Wilson’s backup Da’Rel Scott after cutting him last week. Brandon Jacobs likely will be the starter in Chicago as the Giants try to earn their first win of the season.
