Chris Mullin outshoots Kings players

Chris Mullin doesn’t move around like he once did, but his sweet shooting stroke hasn’t aged a day.

The Brooklyn product and former St. John’s star put on an impromptu 3-point shooting clinic Friday after a Kings practice in front of a large gathering of students at UC Santa Barbara.

Mullin, a new advisor with the Kings, sank 14-of-15 3-pointers in a competition with Kings players DeMarcus Cousins, Ben McLemore and Jimmer Fredette. Cousins, however, won the contest in Round 2 by hitting a half-court shot.

Kings owner Vivek Ranadive hatched the idea. The students got into a frenzy when Mullin was announced as “Vinny, a 16th-year senior majoring in aeronautics,” inside the Pavilion Gym.

The 50-year-old Hall of Famer shot 50.9 percent from the field in his 15-year NBA career, and displayed that form for the college students, going in-and-out on one trifecta and barely touching the rim on several long bombs.

“He was on a hot streak,” Fredette told Cowbell Kingdom. “I used to love watching him growing up. He’s from New York I’m from New York actually. Awesome experience at least shooting against him.”
