A young Brooklyn designer’s sexy hosiery has caught the attention of Madonna, Rihanna and Alessandra Ambrosio.
Beyoncé even has a custom-made, nude-colored set of Erica M stockings.
Erica M’s designs, starting at $50 each, mimic lingerie garter belts with embellishments knitted into each pair.
Erica Young, 31, works out of a loft in Bushwick, but the product is made in Italy.
Young launched her first collection two years ago, after studying accessories design and earning a degree at Fashion Institute of Technology.
She then worked for a shoe manufacturer, for which she spent a third of her year in Asia, designing products.
To start the hosiery company, she liquidated her life savings, about $70,000. Currently, her sales are around $80,000 a year and growing.
