Biden’s wild-child niece in rehab after meltdown

Vice President Joe Biden’s wild-child niece entered an out-of-state rehab program shortly after her September meltdown when she allegedly went berserk in a door-pounding yelling confrontation with her roommate over unpaid rent.

“”She’s doing very well,” said Caroline Biden’s defense lawyer Ira London. “She’s committed to the program.”

He wouldn’t divulge details of the treatment the pol’s troubled niece is undergoing but Biden has a history of booze and pill addiction and served a stint in rehab before, according to friends.

London was in Manhattan Criminal Court Tuesday sans his emotionally volatile client who was excused from the appearance stemming from her Sept 17 breakdown.

London told Judge Ann Scherzer he expected a disposition in the case by February. Biden isn’t expected to serve any jail time and must appear at her next court date February 5th, London said.

The Georgetown University grad was cuffed at her ritzy Tribeca apartment and charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration and harassment.

Biden, 26, allegedly took a swing at a female cop who responded to the disruption at the luxury rental pad she shared with a female roommate.

“I shouldn’t be handcuffed! You don’t know who you’re doing this to,” Biden barked at police, according to court documents.

Her antics didn’t subside at the 1st Precinct station house where she asked to use the bathroom and when she left her cell announced she was leaving. Officers had to force the pretty blue-eyed blond back into her cell.

Biden is the daughter of the vice president’s financier brother James Biden Sr.
