‘The Rock’ is Hollywood’s top money-maker

Forbes magazine pegged former pro wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Hollywood’s top money-making actor of 2013, thanks to box-office hits like “Fast & Furious 6” and “G.I. Joe: Retaliation.”

The financial mag tallied up the worldwide box-office gross of Hollywood’s biggest stars and found that Johnson’s movies took in a staggering $1.3 billion.

2012’s top dog, Robert Downey Jr., had another banner year, finishing No. 2 on the 2013 list with his movies taking in $1.2 billion, thanks in large part to “Iron Man 3.”

Johnson and Downey Jr. were followed by Steve Carell (at $964 million), Vin Diesel ($887 million), Sandra Bullock ($862 million) and the late Paul Walker ($789 million).

Walker played alongside Johnson in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. The 40-year-old Walker died on Nov. 30 near Los Angeles, as a passenger in a speeding Porsche that flipped out of control at 90 mph.
